How To Make Keto Crustless Cheeseburger Pie
Step-by-Step Instructions: Making Your Cheeseburger Pie
So how do you make this keto custless cheeseburger pie? It’s so simple!
Step 1: Prep your Pan
Since this is a pie recipe, a 9-inch round pie plate works best. But if you don’t have one, you can use an 8×8 casserole dish instead. Either way, make sure your dish is well greased.
Step 2: Cook the Beef and Onions
Since you have to cook the beef and onions that you will be using first, put them in the same pan to cook together to combine the flavors. After that, drain it and then spread it evenly across the bottom of your casserole pan.
Step 3: Make the Creamy Custard
In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, heavy cream, and your choice of spices. Make sure to whisk them well to create an even sauce. After that, pour it over the ground beef as evenly as you can.
Step 4: Add the Cheese
Spread your shredded cheese on top and put your casserole in the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbling. Once it starts to smell good, the family will start asking where the burgers are.
Step 5: Bake
It’s best if you let the cheeseburger pie cool for about 5 minutes, which will make it easier to serve.
Making Cheeseburger Casserole In The Slow Cooker
If you want to make a cheeseburger casserole in a slow cooker, just follow the same steps and then cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, until the center has set. It’s super easy to adapt this to a slow cooker!
How To Serve Your Cheeseburger Pie
Before adding the cream sauce, you can mix in some ground beef of your choice. I like to add in some chopped pickles. Adding bacon is great (it’s good with everything, isn’t it?).
You can really add any burger toppings you like to the ground beef and then put a layer of cheese on top before baking.
You can also top your cheeseburger pie with pickles, tomatoes, onions, shredded lettuce, bacon bits, jalapenos, or any other toppings you have.
We like to eat our low carb beef casserole dinner over a layer of shredded lettuce with some fresh chopped tomatoes and pickles on top. You can add some sugar free ketchup, BBQ sauce, and/or mustard if you wish.

Variations For Cheeseburger Pie
If you don’t want to serve toppings on the side, this cheeseburger pie recipe can stand on its own and you can do what you like with it. Each time you make it, you can adjust the recipe to meet your desires or cravings for a cheeseburger.
SOUTHERN BBQ BURGER
Instead of mixing the onions with the beef, go ahead and caramelize them then spread on top. Drizzle with your favorite keto BBQ sauce.
SPICY BURGER
If you like your food spicy go for pickled jalapenos and adjust the cheese to monterrey or pepper jack. You can add bell peppers and onions with this version too.
CALIFORNIA BURGER
Add toppings to your burger such as slices of avocado, tomato, and red onion… Or a mound of guacamole. Use Monterrey cheese.
MUSHROOM BACON SWISS
Add sautéed mushrooms, crispy bacon, and melted swiss cheese for this rich, savory cheeseburger delight.
PIZZA BURGER
Enjoy pizza flavors with your cheeseburger pie! Replace cheddar with mozzarella, add pizza sauce, and top with crispy pepperoni. This is a great way to combine two favorite foods!
Serving & Storing Your Low Carb Cheeseburger Casserole
Like many casseroles, you can prepare this meal in advance and just bake it before serving.
To keep leftovers fresh, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They last for a week.
The microwave works great for reheating. It’s nice to sprinkle a little water in the bottom of the dish around the food before reheating as it will help the cheese to melt, instead of dry up.
You can enjoy a slice of this on your favorite low-carb bread as a burger-style sandwich, or serve it in a crisp lettuce wrap. It also pairs really well with a fresh side salad or topped with chopped vegetables.
And no matter how you serve it, don’t forget the low-carb fries. Every burger night deserves a side of healthy French fries.
